A new beginning.

In 2011, the Premier of Manitoba announced an expansion project for Holy Family home that will include a new 157-bed building and revitalization of the existing facilities. As a result, we have launched a $10 million capital campaign and require the support of the community.

This is your opportunity to provide a meaningful contribution to a very worthy cause.

In 1902, a group of determined and faith filled women with a vision to care for those in need, arrived in Canada. As the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate grew as a community, so did their ability to do whatever was needed to minister to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the people they met. After establishing hospitals and homes to care for the elderly across western Canada in the early years, they were able to experience and embrace a new ministry opportunity in Winnipeg. In 1957, the SSMI along with tremendous community support established Holy Family Home.

Health care needs for the elderly have certainly changed over the years. Many seniors are living longer active lives, yet many are also presented with complex health care needs that require a place like Holy Family Home. Since 2007, the Board of Directors and Sisters have worked diligently on a plan to revitalize the Home. In 2011, that work paid off as the Premier of Manitoba announced an expansion project for Holy Family Home as part of the government’s investment to increase the number of personal care home beds in the province. The time has come to proceed.

Holy Family Home has launched a $10 million capital campaign to meet the needs of this project and beyond. For this dream to come to fruition and to ensure that Holy Family Home is there for many more generations, we need the support of the community. Here is your opportunity to provide a meaningful contribution and become part of this legacy.
